Department Heritage and Cultural Events

Over the past years, the Department has organized several cultural and heritage events like the Gatka and Bhangra performances at the Guru Hargobind Singh Museum of Martial Arts, Kapal Mochan, Yamunanagar, Traditional Haryanvi Raag Raagini performances at Jahaj Kothi Museum, Hisar and many more.

Recently, the Department organized its flagship event, Rakhigarhi Mahotsav at the Iconic Archaeological site of Rakhigarhi, Hisar which had visitors from all over the country with a footfall of over 10,000.

The Department of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana, organized a series of heritage and cultural events across various districts in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as the American Institute of Indian Studies, INTACH, MDU Rohtak, IGU Rewari, RKSD College Kaithal, Arya PG College, and SD College Panipat etc. These events featured a diverse range of activities, including heritage walks, cultural performances, special talks, interactive sessions, exhibitions, and workshops.

The objective of these events was to present Haryana's cultural heritage in an engaging and informative manner, blending education with entertainment to spark interest and awareness. These programs successfully attracted local communities, emphasizing the importance of preserving and celebrating the state’s rich heritage while fostering a deeper connection to its historical and cultural legacy.
