The Department of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana, has successfully organized heritage walks and tours to raise awareness about the region's rich architectural and historical legacy. Over 30 heritage walks have been conducted across 14 districts of Haryana, led by passionate individuals from each district. These initiatives have not only promoted heritage appreciation but also generated employment opportunities. Participants and walk leaders were awarded appreciation certificates in recognition of their efforts. The department aims to expand these walks to cover all districts of Haryana, further enhancing awareness and appreciation of the state's cultural wealth.
The department provides transportation and meals to facilitate participants, with special arrangements made for visitors from Delhi and Gurugram. This year, two tours were organized to the prominent heritage sites of Rakhigarhi and Narnaul from Delhi-Gurugram. In the past year alone, these heritage walks and tours have seen participation from over 1,000 individuals, showcasing the growing interest in Haryana's heritage.
